In 1974, a group of physics and technology professors at La Pocatière College, nestled in the magnificent Lower St. Lawrence River region in the Province of Quebec, conceived a brilliant idea and decided to put their high-tech knowledge to better use. Pocatec, the forerunner of Axion Technologies, was born. Not surprisingly, our initial products were designed for the educational sector. Pocatec quickly earned a reputation for its top quality line of power supply products.

In the early eighties, Pocatec stormed ahead with new applications one of which was a new Public Address System specifically aimed at the public transit sector. By the end of the decade, this niche represented Pocatec's core line of business.

With the nineties well underway, Pocatec had firmly consolidated its position as an industry contender and acknowledged leader. Product reliability combined with an innovative spirit made the company an ideal partner for the world's largest manufacturers:
